A. M. Hedin
I think I will be able to, in the end, rise above the clouds and climb the stairs to Heaven, and I will look down on my beautiful life.
Artist, author, creator Anne Hedin wants to help as many people as possible look down and see a beautiful life. Beloved artist Yayoi Kusama (referenced above) has committed most of her 90+ years of life to bringing art to the world and Hedin wants to do the same. She believes that by promoting public art awareness and offering free art exhibits the community's art connection will be enhanced.
Hedin's Foster Art Project (FAP) idea began in the Spring of 2020 when she was able to visit multiple elementary schools planting seeds of confidence, problem solving skills, and the joy of creation in her community's youth in a new and exciting way.
FAP was designed to enable youth to assist a professional artist in the creating process of large art pieces. These works are then put on public display in galleries and studio spaces locally. To add to the love of the process, Hedin helps set up an on-loan art system in elementary school libraries so children can check out actually one of kind pieces of contemporary art, much like a library book, to take home and hang on their bedroom wall for extended periods of time.
Hedin's unique painting style often involves bold lines, pops of color, and imagery planted on top of an aurora borealis use of negative space. Viewers often comment that her work is uplifting and comforting.
Offering the public more art knowledge Hedin's book, "The 12 Inspiring Artists' Guide" provides insight on how to grow artistically. It has 11 original line drawings and suggestions on how to use other's art to allow personal growth. Find a copy here. This work helps to share that anyone can be an artist and introduces a variety of contemporary successful artists to the reader.
Hedin loved the 20+ years she spent as an educator, but knows she was born to create art full time. Helping youth while developing her work allows her rich educator experience to aid others while making art to share with the world.
Stop by her studio downtown Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and take a Selfie while exploring Hedin's most recent art installation. Art is not just about the artist, it's about the viewer's experience as well and together this is what makes a beautiful life.
