A. M. Hedin
I think I will be able to, in the end, rise above the clouds and climb the stairs to Heaven, and I will look down on my beautiful life.
Artist, author, creator Anne Hedin wants to help as many people as possible look down and see a beautiful life. Founder of the Foster Art Project, Hedin attends elementary schools to share her talents with youth in hope of planting seeds of confidence, problem solving skills, and the joy of creation.
The Foster Art Project was designed to allow students to assist in the process of creating professional large art canvas pieces, and then being able to see them on public display in galleries and studio spaces. To add to the love of the process, Hedin helps set up an on-loan art system in elementary school libraries so children can check out pieces of art, much like a library book, to take home and hang on their bedroom wall for extended periods of time.
Her unique painting style often involves bold lines, pops of color, and imagery planted on top of an aurora borealis use of negative space. Hedin's style invites the viewer to be lifted and comforted.
Hedin's "The 12 Inspiring Artists' Guide" provides insight on how to grow artistically while experiencing her progression from student, to teacher, to full-time artist. It has 11 original line drawings and suggestions on how to use other's art to allow personal growth. Find a copy here.
Hedin loved the 20+ years she spent as an educator, but knows she was born to create art full time. Helping youth while developing her work allows her rich educator experience to aid others while making art to share with the world.
Stop by her studio downtown Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and take a Selfie while exploring Hedin's most recent art installation. Art is not just about the artist, it's equally about the viewer's experience as well.
